Modes of Study – How Amnos works

There are two ways of studying for the Amnos Church Planting School Certificate: 1) Standard Programme, 2) Integrated Intern Programme. Please note that the School curriculum is the same for both.

The course is split into three terms (Autumn – 10 weeks, Spring – 11 weeks and Summer – 7 weeks). During term time college teaching takes place on Thursday and Friday of each week, with practical evangelism on Saturdays (half day). Assignments are to be written in the student’s own time. The programme incorporates an additional 11 days in June/July when students join the Amnos Arise outreach programme.

The Standard Programme

The Standard Programme is suitable for independent students who are self-propelled and want to continue with part-time work (or in some cases can juggle full-time hours) and study simultaneously.

This programme runs from October until mid-August the following year (10.5 months) and includes a 5 week internship over the summer at a placement church. The student is required to find and arrange their own placement (ideally in a church plant situation). Graduation is in September.

Integrated Intern Programme

The Integrated Intern Programme offers the same course as The Standard Programme (2 days/week). In addition to this students also work in an agreed church Internship/placement for 3 days/week.

All requirements of the standard course remain the same apart from the need to do the summer placement. Therefore, while the programme becomes 5 days/week it can be completed in just 9 months – from October until the end of June with graduation in September.

Amnos may well be able to connect students with an ideal church plant placement that fits with the course. However, if you would like to propose an alternative placement we are happy to discuss this further.
