Curriculum

Our Curriculum is designed to provide our students with practical training in three areas: EvangelismDisciple Multiplication and Church Planting. We attempt to achieve the goal with a balanced emphasis on three areas of training: Spiritual (heart) Academic (head) and Practical (hand).

We believe that the best way to plant churches is through evangelism as you engage in planting seeds of the Gospel, grow disciples and then gather them into churches. Starting the other way around often will result in growing through transfer growth rather than new life growth.

Regular, continuous and prayerful outreach is a non-neg

otiable part of the training course. We also emphasise pastoral training as well as spiritual and character training, so that those who receive the Gospel are then also suitably pastored and discipled, by healthy and well formed leaders.

Each module will be taught through a blend of Bible study, lectures and practical going deeper input. Pens-And-Books

Modes of Teaching and Learning

We recognize that disciples, and therefore also people who plant churches, are best made and raised in community. We also recognize the major pressures on time and finance that disciples of Jesus may face. The hybrid model that Amnos Church Planting uses attempts to build and maintain community, whilst also making teaching and learning accessible for the disciple seeking to be a church planter.

The pilot course will be delivered over 10 months starting on February 27th, 2025 (with a break in August) and will comprise of:

  • Weekly 2-hour Online Sessions via Zoom (Thursdays, 8–10 PM)
  • Monthly 1:1 – a 1-hour ‘Celebrate and Invest Session’ with a mentor.
  • Monthly ‘Evangelism Together’ practical training (Saturday morning or Sunday afternoons)
  • ‘Going Deeper’ – optional sessions including pre-recorded lectures on the website.

There is also an expectation that time will be taken by individuals every week in prayer, in preparation and in the harvest (e.g. Prayer Walking, Outreach, sharing with your community).

Structure of the weekly Online Sessions:

  • ½ Hour: Review of evangelism and disciple making (Sharing testimonies and learning over the last week, Gospel shared, people trained etc)
  • 1 Hour: Discipleship session unpacking a Bible Passage exploring fundamentals of personal character, evangelism, church, spirituality. Followed by teaching input.
  • ½ Hour: Prayer

Monthly Evangelism Together:  Evangelism together will help MODEL and ASSIST students in different evangelism approaches. Locations will be in the UK and will vary based on approach and the locations of students. As the course progresses the monthly sessions will involve tutors assisting and WATCHING students to help them refine their practice, prior to being LAUNCHED out at the end of the 10 months.

Monthly Celebrate And Investment Sessions (CIS): Once a month students will share their personal and ministry progress with a tutor. The aim is to celebrate obedience and

faithfulness and to invest for growth and development.  In addition to personal discipleship accountability, these CIS times take on a coaching format and will be structured around the four fields model: GO-GOSPEL-GROW-GATHER-GUIDES

Going Deeper Sessions: There will be a bank of resources developed to help church planters go deeper in awareness and skills. These ‘going deeper’ sessions will cover topics like fundamentals in pastoral care, preaching, church history, other religions and will be delivered either in person at Gold Hill Baptist Church in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, or via webinars/pre-recorded teaching sessions.

Milestone Markers: Throughout the Church Planting training course there will be 4 ‘milestone’ markers to discuss during monthly celebration sessions. Whilst there will still be essays/reflective exercises for students to complete, it is these milestones of obedience that will act as measures of progression through the course. They will include goals for the practical implementation of the teaching, i.e. sharing the gospel, training others to do the same, starting groups, planting churches and coaching leaders.
